Construction at a new cocktail lounge in downtown Bentonville is nearly complete.
While an exact opening date hasn’t been announced, the owners of Hardwater Cocktail Room hope to open in about five weeks.
The bar is located at 321 SE D St, Suite 101, right beside The Meteor and about a five-minute walk from the Momentary.
In addition to drinks, Hardwater will serve small plates such as charcuterie, sliders, and desserts. The bar will offer late-night service, with plans to stay open until 11 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The 2,016-square-foot bar will have 52 seats inside and 14 seats on the patio.
Hardwater’s General Manager Claire Thompson described the bar’s concept as upscale enough for a date night, but comfortable enough for a casual drink, too.
“We’re trying to kind of toe this line between you walk in and you feel cool being in the space, but anyone can come in,” Thompson said. “I don’t want people to be second-guessing their attire … We want to maintain the comfort of a neighborhood bar.”
Cole Campbell, who owns the bar with his wife Jenny, hopes the team’s focus on hospitality leaves a lasting impression on customers.
“We’re going to have good drinks, we’re going to have a dope atmosphere, we’re going to have good food, but I really want the service to be something that stands apart,” he said.
